Update 2025-02-25: Information shared below is outdated I bought a book today with Audioteka Klub subscription and I can download mp3 file. <3 I guess we buyin them nowā¦
Dammit.
I recently got into audiobooks. Iām from Poland and I prefer to listen to them in polish. For me, THE app for audiobooks is https://audioteka.com/pl/ (they didnāt pay me btw.).
Thereās just one thing that I donāt like about it, and it is a deal breaker for me. But first I have to explain their subscription model.
Audioteka offers a few plans. Audioteka Plus - you pay 25 zÅ/mo and get 1 point to spend on any audiobook, which you can download as mp3 - great and I love it.
Audioteka Klub - you pray 30 zÅ/mo to get access to a limited set of audiobooks, that you can listen in app only - which is totally fine. I get that they donāt want people to download their whole library.
Audioteka Klub has one more thing to offer, if you have the subscription, you can pay 23 zÅ for any book ( which is simmilar to what Audioteka Plus offers). BUT thereās a catch. You cannot get an mp3 file for that book - which grinds my gears.
I paid for subscription, and a premium on top of that to get a book and I cannot download it ahhhhā¦
One last thing. The ultimate fuck you, which all the subscriptions companies can pull off - revoke the access to the content that YOU bought. Anytime. Imagine that you pay for a thing and they take it from you :) Because in the end - you never had it. It was safely behind their app and its DRM :) Oh and If this company goes under, your audiobooks go under with it.
Ok. Maybe thereās a way to get more of these Audioteka Plus āpointsā which would totally solve my problem. But NO. I can get a āvoucherā for 40 zÅ. I want to pay a fair price for your service, and I hate that the only solution seems to be to create multiple accounts.
